How to search Australian self-service wreckers
Looking for a used car part at a self-service yard usually starts with finding the right donor vehicle. Instead of repeating the same search across separate operator websites, you can check indexed vehicle stock here and work out which yards are worth a closer look.
Aussie Wreckers Search looks for vehicles, not loose parts. A matching vehicle gives you somewhere to start, but it does not mean the part is present, undamaged, compatible or still available. Use the results to build a shortlist, then open the source listing before you travel.

Start broad, then narrow it down
Enter the make and model if you know them. You can type a plain description such as "manual Subaru Forester wagon 2005 to 2012", or use the separate filters. Choose a state first if you want to keep the results close to home.
The filters cover make, model, year range, body style, fuel, transmission, wrecker and yard. You do not need to fill every field. A broad search is often a better first pass. If no vehicles match, remove the least important filter and try again.
Browse by vehicle or yard
The vehicle directory groups current stock by make and model. It is useful when you want to compare models from one manufacturer or see which makes currently have donor vehicles in the index.
If location matters more than a particular model, the wrecker directory groups inventory by state, operator and individual yard. Each page includes current stock totals, so you can also check what a familiar yard has listed.
What a vehicle record tells you
A vehicle card shows the details available from the source. Depending on the record, that can include the year, state, wrecker, yard, stock or lot number, odometer, engine, fuel, transmission and body type. Some source listings provide more detail than others.
Open the vehicle page to see the recorded details, the date it was last checked and a link back to the operator's listing. Matching make, model and year details still do not confirm that a component remains on the car or that it will fit your vehicle.
Check the operator's source
Before travelling, use the source link to confirm that the vehicle is still listed. Check the operator's site for opening hours, entry fees, safety rules and tool restrictions. If a stock or lot number is shown, keep it handy while checking the source record.
Yard inventory can change after a vehicle is published or checked, and parts may already have been removed. Aussie Wreckers Search does not sell parts or operate the listed yards, so confirm availability and access with the wrecker. If a record appears incorrect, report it through the contact page and include the listing URL.
Every result links back to the wrecker's current listing.
Yard rules, entry fees and safety requirements vary.
A listed vehicle does not guarantee your part is still fitted.
